Optical Illusion

I snatched these Jeffrey Campbell MJ wedges up about a month ago and have yet to wear them...until today! They're like art in that they needed to be revealed at the right time. Okay, that's maybe putting it a bit strong. But, they are truly special to me. I really feel like these type of iconic wardrobe pieces will be the ones I will keep to show my daughter one day. It's going to be so fascinating to look back at old photos and vintage pieces from my closet in the future. I want at least a little part of it to not only reveal my most sought after brands and designers and trends I loved and got lost in, but also to say a little bit about who I am, and who I was, and how that is reflected in who I will have become. I know that's a lot of pressure for a pair of shoes. ;) I truly believe that while the way we present ourselves everyday doesn't necessarily define us, it is like a little window that lets the whole world know a little about what actually does. Wow...that sounds lame when you read it aloud. And yet I am not deleting it because it's still true. :)

Believe it or not, these are not that difficult to walk in. Hence, the reference to the optical illusion. The heel and the back tip of the bottom heel are actually a straight line. So, it is as if someone just cut out the unnecessary middle. Though, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little uneasy at first. Maybe I fell once. I don't know...who's counting?
