Park Strolling...

Since my best friend doesn't live in Jacksonville anymore, I try to soak up as much time with him as I can when he is in town for a visit. We don't usually try to fill our time with huge experiential moments, but mere pedestrian everyday trips. That's just the kind of friends we are. It's a lot of walking in parks and strolling down neighborhood streets. We went to the park after breakfast one day this week to shoot these photos.

Simplicity...

armysurplusjacket/vintage  floralwedges/UO  watch+eyeglasses/MichaelKors  dress/F21

I'm keeping it rather simple today in this get up. But, my hair is lighter again! It's really weird, I feel like myself all over again. I'd been wearing the heck out of the ombre look for a while now and really liked it, but it was definitely time for a change. This strawberry blonde gets me in the mood for fall. (I realize it is only July.) :) Obsessed.

I refuse to take this army surplus jacket off. What a fantastic color this olive is. I want to wear it with everything and have therefore found myself in it for the last three days. :/ Alas, I think I'll hang it up tonight so as not to wear off the new too quickly. That baby is going to be a lifesaver come Autumn! It was on my list of wardrobe additions I have prepared for Fall, so it felt really great to put a big fat check next to it!

A Little Fancy...

On the rare occasion I get a day off and don't actually find myself obligated to do this thing or the other, I love to chill. Some days, you just have to. On these days, my outfits tend to be quite low key. You won't catch me in anything but a flat and I can promise my hair won't be straight or blown out. Today...is one of those days. But, instead of just resigning myself to a white tank and cutoffs, I threw on this lovely fringe cape. I feel like a gypsy in it, which is kind of fabulous. I have a feeling it's going to pop up in several outfit posts throughout the summer, even though it's black, and drapey. I LOVE fringe. I can't help myself! And anything that even slightly smacks of a vintage grandmotherly print....count me in.

Myth

I'm going to see Beach House tomorrow night! Legitimately...so so so excited. Beach House is just one of those bands that can not put out a bad album. So dreamy. I can't wait for their newest, Bloom to come out next week considering that I'm already obsessed with this song. I am also going to be incredibly tired because I'm leaving for Tennessee at 5 am the following day! Totally worth it. But, in order to save on sleep, I need to hit the hay like...yeah right now. :) Vacation posts will certainly be up next week!

We'll All Take Our Chances....

I’m obsessed with print right now. I found this floral print vintage dress when I was in Savannah last week at Civvies. I feel like it’s such a rare thing to find a dress like this that doesn’t require any alterations (which I wouldn’t have minded providing at the price I snatched this up for.) I got lucky!

It (like this dress) also blows in the wind when I walk and I’m pretty obsessed with that. J

What's that town called?

SUCH….an amazing weekend. Whew. I am certainly exhausted from travelling and running all over Savannah. I just adore that city…le sigh. I could totally live in Savannah, if it were just a wee bit bigger. But, I went with my two best friends for one’s birthday celebration and we did the place up right. J The entire day consisted of coffee, shopping, tea, more thrift shopping, cafes, drinks, people watching in the park, a GORGEOUS sunset on the roof, and the best tacos I’ve ever eaten in my life.

The Paris Market on Broughton.

Studded loafers. :)

French Marshmallows!

80's Party at Civvies.

Needless to say, I dressed fairly casual for all the walking I knew we’d be doing. But, I’m pretty obsessed with this Lush shirt from Wolfgang and I think it’s pretty rad dressed down with these thrifted denim shorts. Oh, and these Wanted studded shoes!! I finally got them in the mail last week. Amazingly comfortable. Totally withstood hours and hours of foot travel. J

Marc Jacobs lust.

Firefly Cafe

Basement bar love.

Savannah Candy Kitchen...yummmmm.

Monster Cookie.

Rocks on the Rooftop. Best bar in Savannah...and almost anywhere else.

Sunset.

Chicken tacos with fig sauce. Salivating.

Best purchase ever. So lovely.

One of the best parts of road trips is always the drive. We were so eager to be there on the way, some pretty amazing conversation ensued. (Insert sarcasm here.) At some point there was a conversation about a new town on an exit called Horse Stamp Punch Road. (wtf?!) Yeah, but what’s the town going to be called? Hmm…welcome to Georgia, folks.

Sara Louise is such an artist. :)
